THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR.
Indivisible Lincoln City’s NO KINGS: VOTE EARLY RALLY, October 17th, will be a loud & clear wake-up call for our neighbors and visitors: NOW is our chance to wield the most important tool that exists in a democracy – THE VOTE.
We will have three messages:
1. Be READY to vote
2. Vote IMMEDIATELY
3. Use a BALLOT DROP BOX (not mail box).
Why? First ballots are mailed to Lincoln County from Bend on Oct. 14th. Some may arrive by Oct. Voting immediately avoids the possibility of misplacing or forgetting a ballot. Using a Ballot Drop Box is also crucial because it can take 7 -10 business days for a mailed ballot to get a postmark in Portland. A late postmark invalidates a vote.
Do your best to mobilize friends, family, and neighbors to save democracy.
Our signs will proclaim:
OUR VOTE, OUR COUNTRY
BE READY TO VOTE
VOTE EARLY
BE A VOTER
YOUR VOICE – YOUR VOTE
USE THE BALLOT DROP BOX
VOTING WILL SAVE US
DON’T DESPAIR – VOTE!
Bring flags, streamers, bubbles, goofy costumes, noise makers, balloons, signs, banners, music…anything that will catch driver’s attention safely.
Remember – we decide who represents us. We decide what comes next.
THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE!
For more than a year, millions of people have come together to reject the idea that power belongs to kings, billionaires, or politicians who believe they are above the people and the law. Now is when we can make a difference.
October 17th is a day of nonpartisan voter participation: we are bringing Lincoln City together to make a plan to vote early and ensuring every eligible voter understands their options for how to vote and has the opportunity to make their voice heard. No one person gets to decide our leaders before voters do.
On October 17th, join us in local events across the country as we get out the early vote and say it loud & clear: NO THRONES, NO CROWNS, NO KINGS.
*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
