1. 50 Protests, 50 States (and D.C.), 1 Day

   Completed

   Our movement began with a single post on Reddit, which exploded into a coordinated event at every state capitol (D.C.) to signify our solidarity nationwide. February 5, 2025, marked the very first time in United States history that all fifty states participated together simultaneously in a nationwide protest. This historic turnout shattered previous organizing milestones and set our very first record as a movement, proving that a digital spark could ignite an unstoppable, nationwide force for real-world change. What made this milestone truly remarkable was the incredibly quick turnaround, leaving organizers with just days to plan. Many of the people stepping up had absolutely no prior experience hosting events or coordinating actions. Despite the tight timeline and steep learning curve, everyday people managed local logistics, built communication lines, and successfully launched a flawless fifty-state mobilization from scratch.

2. No Kings on President’s Day

   Completed

   50501 movement held the “No Kings on Presidents Day” rallies across all 50 states to voice our disapproval of the administration’s executive overreach. Event organizers envisioned this day of action as a direct way to draw attention to Donald Trump’s disregard for the separation of powers and his greed for more power. Braving freezing temperatures, thousands of demonstrators marched to city halls, the National Mall in D.C., and state capitols nationwide. Our demonstrations targeted the immediate threat of mass federal worker layoffs driven by Elon Musk and the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). United under the banner of protecting public services, we stood with federal employees to oppose the corporate dismantling of public infrastructure and prove that our resistance would not yield to authoritarian control.

3. People’s State Of The Union

   Completed

   The March 4th for Democracy day of action occurred on the day of the first State of the Union address of this presidency. It was a direct protest to the administration’s platform that took place later in the day, serving as a massive nationwide counter-programming effort. Demonstrators took to the streets across all 50 states to fight back against the mass federal layoffs driven by DOGE, executive overreach, and attacks on civil rights. We gathered outside the U.S. Capitol and at statehouses nationwide hours before the speech to challenge the administration’s message in real-time. We called for an immediate halt to federal workforce layoffs, the protection of vital programs like Medicaid and SNAP, and a return to strict constitutional checks and balances. By organizing these protests on a major legislative night, we showed the deep resistance to these government cuts before the president even began speaking.

4. Hands Off!

   Completed

   On April 5, 2025, we launched the first in our series of “Hands Off!” demonstrations, breaking records as the largest single day of protest in United States history. Organized alongside a coalition of over 150 labor and civil rights groups, we brought an estimated 3 million to 5 million demonstrators into the streets, surpassing the historic 1970 Earth Day milestones. Claiming this title immediately ignited a fierce public numbers dispute with conservative media and administration officials who tried to downplay our turnout. However, our coalition stood firm. By partnering with the Harvard Crowd Counting Consortium to analyze our 1,400 protest locations, we successfully validated our record-breaking presence. We took action to directly fight back against early Project 2025 blueprints, specifically targeting mass federal workforce layoffs driven by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and mounting threats to reproductive freedom. Setting this new milestone was an incredible change of pace that proved the power of our growing resistance. We could not have shattered this record alone, and we owe a massive thank you to every single organization that stepped up to organize alongside our 50501 members.

5. Community Day of Action

   Completed

   Following the massive “Hands Off” rallies earlier in the month, organizers intentionally pivoted toward a more decentralized, community-focused approach to demonstrating. On April 19, 2025, our local chapters aimed to uplift neighbors and fortify communities against federal policy threats. The day leaned into a vibrant, resilient grassroots vibe, blending urgent political action with mutual aid and community care. Across the country, neighborhoods transformed into hubs of collective resistance and support. Local groups hosted mutual aid drives, community potlucks, and educational workshops alongside traditional marches and rallies. We also stood ground at economic pressure points through peaceful Tesla Takedown protests at dealerships to challenge the administration’s corporate ties. Rather than just hosting another traditional top-down rally, this day of action allowed us to build lasting local safety webs, share critical resources, and remind the administration that our solidarity begins at the local level.

6. Mayday Strong 2025

   Completed

   On Mayday, 50501 organized over 1,000 events, along with over 570 other groups. Collectively, organizing was done under the umbrella of Mayday Strong. Hundreds of thousands of us walked out of work, left classrooms, and shut down city squares to fight back against the administration’s early policy attacks. The fuse was lit by a direct assault on the working class. Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was pushing through mass federal layoffs, while the administration launched brutal immigration sweeps and threatened public education. We demanded an immediate halt to the government fire sale, protection for the social safety net, and an end to the terror against immigrant families. Communities stood up to fight for “Workers Over Billionaires!” We disrupted commerce through wildcat strikes, student walkouts, and heavy picket lines at economic hubs like Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport. Pulling off a massive weekday mobilization proved that our network could disrupt everyday systems, building the exact cross-movement solidarity we needed to launch our record-breaking “No Kings” rallies weeks later.

   May 1, 2025

7. No Kings

   Completed

   The rallying cry “No Kings” exploded into one of the largest single-day mass mobilizations this country has ever seen. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the No Kings Coalition, Indivisible, the ACLU, and MoveOn, we put an estimated 4,000,000 to 6,000,000 people in the streets across 2,100 cities and towns.

   We made history by taking our country’s narrative back. The administration wanted a display of unchecked power, throwing a heavily militarized Army parade in D.C. to flex their muscles. They tried to intimidate us by federalizing the National Guard in Los Angeles to override local sovereignty. Even when widespread threats escalated online, with scares that far-right counter-protesters were being called to weaponize vehicles to harm and run over our crowds, we refused to back down. Instead, we flooded the streets of every state to show them exactly what democracy looks like: America answers to no king.

   By showing up in every corner of the map, we fundamentally changed the game. We proved that we are not just internet groups—we are a massive, unstoppable force of real-world solidarity ready to shift the balance of power.

8. No Kings: Free America Weekend

   Completed

   Over the July 4th weekend in 2025, we teamed up with the Women’s March and Indivisible to take back Independence Day. We threw out the traditional protest playbook and organized under a simple idea: true freedom is built from the bottom up by communities protecting each other, not handed down by the federal government. We brought this fight to over 1,200 towns, focusing on community survival and education. We set up open-air teach-ins to map out policy threats, organized mutual aid networks to distribute food and medical supplies, and built local safety webs to keep our neighborhoods secure. Our biggest move was taking the fight straight to Washington, D.C. We sent massive regional delegations to shut down the administration’s holiday photo-ops on the National Mall. By flooding the capital, we shattered their narrative of total control, forced progressive lawmakers to hear us, and proved our resistance was a permanent, organized force.

9. Rage Against The Regime

   We hit the streets in over 300 cities across the country, standing shoulder to shoulder to protect our communities and defend our shared values. From massive, high-energy crowds in major metropolitan hubs to spirited rallies at state capitals, we channeled a vibrant, revolutionary spirit, blasting raw rock and hip-hop to turn our collective passion into a celebration of resistance. There was a powerful, beautiful contrast in our “Rage Against the Regime” theme, as we paired that heavy, middle-finger-to-the-system soundtrack with strictly disciplined, completely peaceful tactics. What truly defined the day was this profound community spirit because we didn’t just march, we took care of each other by blending our protest with mutual aid, organizing successful food and school supply drives right on the demonstration lines. We proved our resilience, held our ground, and showed the incredible power of people coming together for justice.

10. Workers Over Billionaires

    We changed the conversation around Labor Day by turning a quiet holiday weekend into a massive, nationwide pushback against federal budget cuts and corporate greed. We marched to protect vital safety nets like Medicaid, Social Security, and public housing, while demanding full funding for public schools and an immediate end to neighborhood ICE sweeps. The May Day Strong coalition helped anchor this effort, connecting local labor unions with community groups to coordinate over 700 actions across the country. We didn’t just hold signs; we called for a total school, work, and shopping boycott to hit the system economically, while organizers used the high-energy crowds to gather signatures for strike pledge cards to lay the framework for future workplace walkouts. Even with the loud, serious, anti-establishment vibe, we kept our tactics strictly peaceful and disciplined to keep the focus entirely on our message.

11. No Kings II

    On October 18, 2025, millions of us came together across the country for our second “No Kings” day of action to take a stand against the administration’s overreach. This wave of defiance completely shattered records, bringing an estimated seven million people into the streets across more than 2,700 locations to mark one of the largest single-day protest events in American history. We broke entirely new ground by expanding far beyond traditional activist strongholds, organizing simultaneous actions that united deep-red rural areas, small suburban towns, and major metropolitan hubs. The most notable moment happened in Washington, D.C., where a massive sea of people completely flooded the National Mall. We marched to reject a system that puts billionaires first while stripping away fundamental reproductive freedoms, voter rights, and vital social programs. Our message was clear as we demanded an immediate halt to intensified ICE raids and the terrifying deployment of masked federal agents in our neighborhoods. The energy on the ground was a beautiful mix of intense fury and joyful community solidarity, featuring bold resistance art, brass bands, and creative costumes. Once again, we paired our unapologetically democratic rhetoric with strictly disciplined, nonviolent tactics to ensure our collective power couldn’t be ignored.

12. Remove The Regime

    Our focus shifted directly to the seat of power on November 22, 2025, when tens of thousands of us descended on Washington, D.C., for the “Remove the Regime” mobilization. Unlike our previous multi-state actions, we explicitly designed this as a targeted, centralized push to demand that Congress immediately impeach, convict, and remove the president. Gathering under gloomy skies at the Lincoln Memorial, our collective actions drove two massive headlines that dominated the news. First, Representative Al Green made a major announcement right from our stage, pledging to file formal articles of impeachment before the winter congressional break. Second, a powerful moment of friction went viral when Marine One flew directly over our march; a massive sea of fists and signs instantly rose toward the sky just as our front line of protesters, dressed in striking red Handmaid’s Tale cloaks, led the crowd forward. By keeping our massive demonstration strictly disciplined and peaceful, we made it clear that the power to protect the Constitution belongs to the people, and we will always stand up to uphold our democracy.

13. Free America Walkout

    Millions of us disrupted the status quo by launching the “Free America Walkout”to mark the one-year anniversary of the administration’s second term. Organized by a broad coalition including the Women’s March, the 50501 movement, No Kings, and many other groups, we collectively walked away from our jobs, classrooms, and daily routines at 2:00 PM local time to declare that we will not cooperate with fascism. Together with local labor, student, and civil rights groups embedded right in our communities, we coordinated over 900 events nationwide and even expanded our reach to allies protesting abroad in countries like Canada, France, and Italy. We marched to fiercely reject aggressive ICE community raids, the domestic deployment of National Guard troops, and the systemic erosion of transgender and civil rights. The atmosphere was vibrant as high school students, workers, and community members flooded the streets in red, white, and blue, channeling our deep concern into a massive, disciplined display of non-compliance. What truly made the day unforgettable was our call for a total economic blackout, intentionally withholding our labor and our commerce to hit the system directly in its pocketbook. By freezing consumer spending and walking out of workplaces simultaneously, we forced corporate interests and local economies to feel the immediate, costly weight of our absence. By keeping our thousands of actions strictly peaceful and unified, we proved our resilience, supported each other through mutual aid planning, and laid the groundwork for the bigger fights ahead.

14. National Day of Lobbying

    We brought the fight directly to our elected officials’ doorsteps on February 17, 2026, by launching a coordinated “National Day of Lobbying” across the country. Instead of marching on Washington, we targeted our federal lawmakers right at home in their local, in-district offices, capturing the attention of both our House Representatives and Senators while they were away from the capital. Ahead of the action, we held widespread community training sessions to demystify the political system, teaching everyday citizens how to effectively pitch policy, share personal stories, and hold politicians accountable. Armed with these new skills, we used a powerful two-pronged approach at each field office, combining peaceful, high-energy rallies on the sidewalks with disciplined constituent teams who went inside to secure direct, face-to-face dialogue and hold our representatives directly accountable. Our focus was entirely on constitutional accountability, demanding the immediate impeachment of the president and the complete defunding of ICE. The event drove massive local headlines across the country, especially following recent high-profile abuses by federal immigration forces, proving that the pressure from our movement is constant, visible, and deeply rooted right in their home districts.

15. No Kings III

    Millions of us flooded the streets for the historic “No Kings III” national day of action, breaking mobilization records for the third consecutive time. An estimated eight to nine million people showed up across more than 3,300 locations, cementing it as the largest single-day protest in American history, up to this point, though we hope to break that record again soon. Our focus expanded heavily to confront new crises, as we marched to denounce the escalation of the war in Iran and demand immediate accountability for recent federal immigration actions. The protests took on a deeply personal urgency following the high-profile winter shooting deaths of Renée Good and Alex Pretti by federal agents during local crackdowns. The vibe on the ground balanced a resilient, defiant energy with a deep sense of mutual solidarity, creative resistance, and bilingual community representation. Even when we faced aggressive police crackdowns and tear gas in cities like Los Angeles, we carefully kept our message strictly disciplined and peaceful across the vast majority of the country to ensure our presence could not be ignored. By standing together on a scale the country had never seen before, we proved that no matter how high the stakes get, our collective voice cannot be silenced and our fight for justice will only grow stronger.

    On May 1, 2026, we picked up the momentum from our spring record-breaking rallies by launching the massive “May Day Strong“ International Workers’ Day mobilization. Under the central banner of “Workers Over Billionaires,” we organized an expansive day of economic blackout with the motto “no school, no work, no shopping” to forcefully reject the corporate takeover of our government. We teamed up with local labor unions and community networks to coordinate thousands of actions across the country, where over 100,000 students went on strike and workers successfully disrupted major transport hubs. Beyond hitting the system in its pocketbook, we used our high-energy rallies and teach-ins as a powerful opportunity to educate people, connecting our current fight directly to the historic labor struggles of the past. We honored the legacy of events like the 1921 Battle of Blair Mountain, reminding the crowds that the workplace protections we enjoy today were paid for by everyday citizens who risked everything to stand up against corporate tyranny. By weaving these vital history lessons right onto the demonstration lines, we showed that our modern strike is part of a long, unbroken tradition of working-class resistance. Even with the massive scale of the shutdown, we kept our tactics strictly disciplined, peaceful, and unified to prove that real, unstoppable power belongs to a united public.

17. All of U.S. 250

    Completed

    We came together in cities all across the country for the massive “All of U.S. 250” day of action. Held just a week before the official 250th anniversary of the United States, we organized this event to be the exact opposite of the administration’s official “America 250” celebration. While their version tried to paint a whitewashed picture of the past, we stood up to defend our democracy, protect the Constitution, and reclaim the true founding ideas of this country. We brought a pretty incredible, defiant energy to our rallies, marches, and community teach-ins, including a massive gathering right outside the White House in Washington, D.C. Our message was focused entirely on securing fundamental human rights for all Americans, with a powerful emphasis on honoring immigrants as the true backbone of this nation. What made the day special was its good, welcoming spirit, packed with multicultural celebrations, local art installations, and young people sharing their stories. By keeping our loud protests strictly peaceful and disciplined, we proved that the real meaning of America’s 250th birthday doesn’t belong to politicians, but to the everyday people fighting for true equality.

18. Free America Weekend

    We took over the long holiday weekend by transforming Independence Day into a historic three-day “Free America Weekend.” While our previous actions were fast-moving strikes and marches, this event was purposely designed to feel like a massive community occupation of public space, trading standard protest lines for multi-day encampments, non-stop teach-ins, and massive family picnics. We kicked off the weekend on July 3 right at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, turning the historic landmark into a beautiful, live-broadcast assembly for human rights. Gathering at the very spot where generations before us fought for freedom, we held a powerful multi-faith vigil and a massive community teach-in focused on constitutional protections and civil liberties. This set a deeply reverent tone for the next two days, where we flooded city squares and neighborhood parks nationwide to prove that true patriotism means standing up for democracy, protecting the Constitution, and defending human rights. Our gatherings focused heavily on the idea that immigrants are the true backbone of this country, uniting naturalized citizens, long-time residents, and allies to demand an immediate end to the unlawful neighborhood ICE sweeps. What made the weekend so distinct was its welcoming, festive spirit, blending our loud, defiant protests with multicultural music and local mutual aid networks that kept everyone safe and supported over the full seventy-two hours. By pairing our unyielding commitment to justice with strictly disciplined, nonviolent tactics, we showed the entire world that the future of American democracy belongs to the people.

19. Good Trouble Lives On Weekend of Action

    To honor the legacy of Congressman John Lewis, we built our weekend around three main actions: flooding local libraries to check out books, running non-partisan voter registration drives, and sharing the message of voting rights in local churches. We fought back against local book bans by launching our new fleet of “Freedom Rolling Libraries” across three states. We packed converted mini-buses with banned literature and set up pop-up reading rooms right on community sidewalks. Volunteers turned the day into a vibrant neighborhood block party while helping neighbors sign up for new library cards on the spot. We broke our single-weekend record by registering over 5,000 new voters across five major cities. To pull this off, we strategically set up our tables outside major sports stadiums and concert venues during busy Friday night events. Local musicians played acoustic sets right at our booths, creating a high-energy atmosphere that drew in massive crowds of young people, connecting them directly where it matters.

20. ICE Out: Justice For All

    We mobilized communities nationwide for our “ICE Out of Everywhere” day of action to demand an end to federal immigration enforcement in our neighborhoods. We launched the #DontServeICE initiative to rally local businesses, hotels, and restaurants to refuse service to federal agents conducting operations. Our coordinated actions focused heavily on blocking funding for mass deportations and pressuring lawmakers to protect families from local raids. We reached a breaking point after federal agents escalated their tactics, terrorized communities, and repeatedly violated basic human rights across the country. In Los Angeles, our fury boiled over when the Supreme Court allowed agents to profile our neighbors based entirely on the language they speak, their race, and their workplaces. Our outrage intensified during the brutal “Operation Metro Surge” in Minneapolis, where ICE agents fatally shot two U.S. citizen protesters, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, and heartlessly detained a five-year-old child wearing a superhero backpack. Our anger only grew as reports exposed the horrific conditions we found in makeshift detention centers across Chicago, New Jersey, and Ohio. In Chicago, federal judges had to step in because agents forced people into cramped cells next to open toilets without adequate food, water, or clean clothing. We watched in horror as a congressional investigation uncovered hundreds of credible human rights abuses in these facilities, including the physical abuse of pregnant women and children, routine beatings by guards, and a complete denial of medical care. We organized massive peaceful rallies directly outside ICE detention centers, field offices, and airports nationwide to demand accountability. Thousands of us took to the streets in major hubs like Boston, Minneapolis, and Salt Lake City despite harsh weather conditions. We successfully united local advocacy groups to create a powerful, unified front that brought the fight for immigrant rights straight to the public eye.
